TRAJECTORY

DANZAR Artistic Company was born in the city of Cali-Colombia in 2005 with the purpose of developing and strengthening in children, adolescents, and young people the appropriation, valuation, and dissemination of the Colombian cultural heritage through processes of artistic training in Colombian folkloric, traditional, and popular dances. The first practices and performances happen in school settings, in neighborhood and community celebrations and then become the essential dance group in the main meetings and local and national festivals of great renown for example Mercedes Montaño Festival; IPC dances for Colombia Festival; International Dance Biennial of Cali; Bambuco Festival, among others, always obtaining great prizes and recognitions.

DANZAR has participated in different international events and festivals, especially those associated with CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts), leading the world with an unparalleled rich and varied experience of the dance and musical repertoire of the different regions of Colombia. Performances in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Cuba, Italy, France, Turkey, Mexico, Chile, and Peru, has allowed spectators and artists from all nations and continents summoned to these meetings, can enjoy one of the most exciting shows of dances and popular traditions of great scenic, technical, and expressive level.

Traditional and popular music is adapted and arranged according to the dance performance, using traditional instruments such as the “chonta” marimba, millet reed flute, native percussion, “tiple” and others, appropriated by our communities in the process of miscegenation where instruments such as clarinet, saxophone, bass, and drummer were also added, thus achieving a perfect sound and scenic balance for the enjoyment of the national and international public.

RESEÑA:

La Compañía Artística DANZAR nació́ en la ciudad de Cali-Colombia en el año 2005 con el propósito de desarrollar y fortalecer en niños, adolescentes y jóvenes la apropiación, valoración y difusión del patrimonio cultural colombiano mediante procesos de formación artística en danzas folclóricas, tradicionales y populares colombianas. Las primeras prácticas y representaciones suceden en escenarios escolares, en las celebraciones de barrio y comunidad y luego constituirse en la agrupación dancística imprescindible en los principales encuentros y festivales locales y nacionales de gran renombre, por ejemplo Festival Mercedes Montaño; Festival IPC danzas por Colombia;  Bienal Internacional de Danza de Cali; festival del Bambuco, entre otros, obteniendo siempre grandes premios y reconocimientos.
DANZAR ha participado en diferentes eventos y festivales internacionales, en especial los asociados a CIOFF (Consejo Internacional de Organizaciones de Festivales de Folklore y Artes Tradicionales),  llevando mundo una sin igual experiencia  rica y variada del repertorio dancístico y musical de las distintas regiones de Colombia. Actuaciones en países como España, Portugal, Bélgica, Holanda, Cuba, Italia, Francia, Turquía, México, Chile y Perú, ha permitido que espectadores y artistas de todas las naciones y continentes convocados a estos encuentros, puedan disfruten de uno de los más emocionantes espectáculos de danzas y tradiciones populares de gran nivel escénico, técnico y expresivo.

La música tradicional y popular es adaptada y arreglada en función del espectáculo de danza, usando instrumentos tradicionales como la marimba de chonta, flauta de caña de mijo, percusión nativa, tiple y otros apropiados por nuestras comunidades en el proceso de mestizaje en donde se agregaron además instrumentos como el clarinete, saxofón, bajo y redoblante, alcanzando así un perfecto equilibrio sonoro y escénico para el disfrute del publico nacional e internacional.
